Headroom

Headroom is the vertical clearance above the top of a garage door opening, needed to house the door's track, springs or, on a roller door, the headbox.

Insufficient headroom is a common reason a standard up-and-over or roller door cannot be fitted without a low-headroom conversion kit or a round-the-corner track. Always check headroom before ordering an electric or roller door, which need extra clearance for the operator or headbox.
