Hörmann
Hörmann is one of the biggest garage door makers supplying the UK. It's best known here for insulated sectional doors in 42mm and 67mm panels, plus roller doors and a smaller steel up-and-over range. Since Hörmann sells through local installers rather than direct, prices and lead times vary.
Garador
Garador is a British-based maker, with its factory in Yeovil, Somerset. It's one of the oldest names in the UK home garage door market. Garador makes steel up-and-over doors in both canopy and retractable gear, plus insulated sectional and side-hinged timber-look doors.
CardaleLegacy brand
Cardale was a well-known UK maker of steel up-and-over doors, widely fitted across Britain from the 1970s through the 2000s. Cardale no longer trades in the same form, and its old spring drum gear is now mostly obsolete. As a result, owners of an older Cardale door usually choose between rare reclaimed parts or a switch to modern gear.
Teckentrup
Teckentrup is a German maker with a large industrial, fire and trade door business alongside its home sectional range. It's a less familiar name than Hörmann or Garador. Even so, several UK installers use it as a fair-priced sectional option.
Woodrite
Woodrite is a UK maker of bespoke hardwood garage doors, mainly in classic side-hinged and sectional styles. Doors are built to the exact opening rather than sold in fixed stock sizes. Consequently, Woodrite sits at the top end of the market, aimed at older and characterful homes.
WessexLegacy brand
Wessex was a well-known name in the older UK steel up-and-over market, and doors bearing its name are still in use in many British garages. Since Wessex no longer makes doors on any scale, finding old spares for its gear has become harder over time.
